Journey, Bonnie Richardson 2016

As an experimental artist using water media, Bonnie’s designs reflect her passion for colour.  She loves how water helps move paint, ink and acrylic in unpredictable ways.  She adapts to the language of her paintings.

Experimenting with water media is a constant for Bonnie.  “The wonder and surprise of being an artist is becoming totally absorbed in the life of my paintings.  There just aren’t enough hours in a day to paint all the paintings waiting to be done.”

Bonnie (Bonn) Richardson was born in North Bay, Ontario into a military family, which meant moving frequently.  Even as a child, she would draw and sketch to help make sense of her world.  It wasn’t until she started having her own family that she realized how crucial it is to constantly nurture her creative process.

Basically self-taugh Bonnie credits two artists for helping her on her artistic journey.  Gerry Squires of St. John’s, Newfoundland was the art teached who made a difference in helping her see with an artistic eye; and Pierre Sabourin of Killarney, Ontario helped her fine tune her craft with many encouragements and pointers.

Bonnie is a member of the London Arts Council.  Her original works hang in various private collections around Canada and abroad.

Partial proceeds from all sales goes to Widows and Orphans of Violence.
