Kevin Bice works in a variety of media, including oil paint, charcoal, India ink, watercolour and soft pastel. His development as an artist has been self-directed, though strongly influenced by many people, most notably his father, Claire Bice who, as well as being a painter, was a writer and illustrator and, for over 30 years, the director of what is now known as Museum London. Others that continue to inspire his ideas and his technique range from Giotto to Matisse. Kevin finds subject matter in objects, buildings and landscapes which reveal some relationship with the people who have owned or occupied them. His choice of medium and his approach are determined by the subject matter.
