Peter Tatham

Studied four-year special art course at Beal Secondary School in London and fine art instruction in Toronto form Peter Tatham's educational background. Many years of experimentation shaped Peter's present styles-pencil sketches which is a subtle impression strived for in watercolours and pallet knife technique in oils. He concentrates on medium, oils.

For reference materials, Peter takes his own photographs. Not with the intent to reproduce exactly what he sees, but to endeavour to put his own design interpretation in his works through colour, texture and balance. While vibrant colours and bold contrasts are not part of the artist's concern, vitality is definitely a factor in his attempt to capture the feeling of his land and seascapes. Seen previously in two shows at the Glen Gallery in London, exhibited at the Artisan's Gallery, Wired Gallery and galleries in Markham and Edmonton, Peter's work has also been represented at Paint Ontario, and various shows at Museum London.
